Taking 8 degrees out of the garage

I grabbed this mobile AC unit with 450-600 sqft capacity. I'm doing a lot in the garage this summer and it is hotter inside than outside. It's terrible! But I do have a window in the garage so I hooked up this AC and it keeps the heat down by around 8 degrees by my measurements, which is a life saver.

The unit works great, seems pretty quiet (I don't really care anyway, just get the heat out!), so I'm happy.

Best portable AC you can buy.

I bought it a few years ago, and had been buying several other brands for years. I know how to take these all apart and put back together. This one is more difficult to open and clean well, but a small tradeoff for something that cools so efficiently and made so well. I use a soft toothbrush to carefully clean the cooling coils on the back. To get to the intake exchange on the bottom is a bit difficult: I had to void the warranty by carefully removing a few of the plastic grid segments on the lower back (which is where the back filter is) in order to use the toothbrush and a can duster (like for keyboards) to clean. (The warranty period actually passed anyway, so I really didn't void it per se.) When you do that, it runs like the day purchased! Like other reviewers, I have it drain into a bucket from the top hose connector. (I keep the bottom one closed.) You can buy a washing machine water connection hose and just cut off the excess to reach to the bottom of the bucket. leave an extra 10 inches to curve the hose a little at the bottom of the bucket, for this ensures the slope you need to drain from the top hose attachment, (which is important). I would like to buy another as a backup, because my older one by another brand sounds like a tank. Close the doors to your bathroom and any other rooms to keep the cooling area small. Use a fan to help circulate the cold air from the bottom of your room. I wasn't paid for this review or anything, so I'm the real deal. I wish I could buy a backup vent hose, for in my experience those eventually get a bit worn. I also made a custom cover for the hose to insulate it a bit to reduce heat radiating from the hose.

Major Upgrade

I had an SPT in room AC unit for years and it would take 4-6 hours to cool our Master Bedroom. After major research I went with the Home Labs 14000 in Room AC Unit. All I can say is WOW! Major Upgrade! The Home Labs unit cools the same Master Bedroom in 20 Minutes! And the Thermostat feature allows me to set the temp to wherever I like! I put the unit on a small 2 foot high table and drain into a Home Depot 5 Gal bucket. It can get a little loud with the Fan on high, but on low it is not too loud. I am very happy with my Home Labs 14000!

Well, portable air conditioner

Thus, although out design, easy to move and use. This is the only portable air conditioner I have had but seems to be quite strong, it can (relatively slow form) a whole apartment cool or very rapidly cool a single room.

It works great for large family room

This unit was much quieter than expected and it worked very well for a large living room / kitchen open to the area. Very easy to install in an apartment need to vent through a window and easy to then save of the summer. Highly recommended.

Gran CA for these hot summers

My room cools down in minutes and keeps me comfortable all night. I have only a few complaints, and are relatively minor for a portable AC. 1: The manual is a little confused and would like to have better information about certain things, for example; They say to follow the instructions inside for cleaning ventilation ducts, but no instructions to do so. 2: The remote control runs away, but unless your lazy and can not bother to get up to change the configuration of the same, identifying did not even bother with it. It seems to work independently of the actual unit, so put commands into one, do not translate to the other. 3: The AC makes some strange noises at a time when the manual does a good job of ensuring with. For the first time owner of CA, I was not aware that the noise of running water or gurgling were normal, and a couple of times in panic. If you encounter these without water dripping from the unit, do not be afraid, everything is fine.
